PRÄZISER WOHNEN
A Narrative Architecture
(2008/2009)
diploma with Mari Pape
professor: Jean-Philippe Vassal & Susanne Hofmann
When we decided to work together on our diploma, it was clear that we wanted to deal with the subject of housing. At the same time it was very important for us to work with existing persons. We wanted to examine precisely how people live and what they do at their homes. Because in university the question for whom you design often remains unanswered.
In order to find participants for our project we placed advertisements in different media and wrote emails to friends and requested to forward them. We found a group of 15 living parties consisting of 19 people - single, couple and family.
By interviewing all participants separately in their homes, our aim was to get to know these people, their relation to their own flat and thereby find an approach to the term of housing. We did not have a catalogue of questions. The interview started with a set of subjects but then turned into a conversation. Afterwards we did a collage workshop together with each participant.
The results of the interviews were supposed to define the further course of our project. |
